Julie's Continuity of Care Package provides complete and optimal midwifery continuity of care made up of these three key components:
Antenatal Care Appointments These take place in the comfort of your own home (I come to you). Includes birth and breastfeeding education and preparation for transition into life as a new parent/s and/or parents of multiple children.
Birth Care / Support - If a home birth is your goal, I provide complete Midwifery care to support this, including a second midwife (arranged by me, Julie) to attend the birth. - If you opt for a hospital birth, I provide early-labour care at your home and support with your transfer to the hospital. Once at the hospital, I can provide birthing support (in a non-clinical role) alongside hospital midwives as a way of providing optimal continuity of care to best support you and your baby by advocating for you based on your birthing plan along with other chosen support person.
Postnatal Care Visits These postnatal check-ups for mother and baby (up to 6 weeks) take place in the comfort of your own home.
Woman-centred care.
Relaxed and un-rushed and taking the time to meet your needs, listen to your concerns, aspirations and dreams in order to provide education, resources, preparation for birth and your postpartum period.
I come to your home - no waiting rooms or car parks.
Payment split into 4 stages at booking, 20 weeks, 28 weeks and 36 weeks.
Alternative payment plan available upon request.
Antenatal and postnatal visits attract a Medicare rebate with receipt provided at conclusion of care.
Antenatal care are well-being checks provided to pregnant women to monitor and promote the health of both the mother and baby during pregnancy. This package is fully inclusive of the following antenatal care by Registered/Endorsed Midwife, Julie Schiller, in the comfort of your own home:
4 - 6 x 60-minute antenatal appointments from 12 – 32 weeks (monthly).
6 - 8 x 60-minute antenatal check-ups - fortnightly from 32 weeks, then weekly from 36 weeks to birth.
Over-the-phone and text support provided when/if needed.
Julie will bake you a home-baked groaning cake and bring it to your 36-week visit.
Each antenatal session in your home will include:
Wellbeing and emotional check-in.
Mother's blood pressure check.
Assessing the baby’s growth in pregnancy and fetal movement patterns.
Listening to your baby's heartbeat/rate with either a Doppler or a stethoscope.
Ordering of any relevant screening and diagnostic blood tests and ultrasounds within the Midwifery scope of practice.
Discuss nutrition, lifestyle and pregnancy-safe exercises.
Discuss any emotional and/or physical concerns.
Individualised education support with questions relating to pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding answered.
From the first antenatal session to the last, we will explore the following topics in order to provide you with individualised education and support on preparing for birth, pregnancy and parenthood:
Individualised preparation and planning for labour, birth and transitioning to life with your newborn within your family.
Learn to approach birth - releasing fear and approaching birth with calm.
Explore the positive impact of endorphins and oxytocin.
Recommended resources for pregnancy, birth and postnatal period.
Thorough discussions and ample opportunity to ask questions and discuss your hopes, dreams, thoughts, fears and approach to birth.
Emphasis on bonding post-birth with “The Golden Hour” skin-to-skin.
Support navigating “building your village” to help nurture your postnatal recovery.
Emphasis on rest, nutrition and comfort to best aid postnatal recovery with recommended tools and resources to support.
Planning for the inclusion of partner, siblings and any other support people to optimise the birthing experience.
Julie will attend your birth (at home or hospital), including transfers to the hospital if required or recommended. This package includes the following support:
Home Birth
Arrangement of a second Midwife (regulatory requirement at a home-birth).
Access to TENS Machine (hire only) for birth.
All necessary documentation to register a birth, family payment, Medicare, and Child and Family Health Services.
Initial post-birth check including weighing, measurements and wellbeing.
Immediate after-birth support.
Regardless of place of birth, Midwifery support will continue should hospital transfer be required.
Back-up birth hospital booking arrangements made by Midwife - if required.
Birth pool available for hire - if planning a water birth.
Hospital Birth
Early-labour support at home before going to the hospital.
Access to TENS Machine (hire only) for birth.
Birth support at the hospital in a non-clinical role.
All necessary documentation to register a birth, family payment, Medicare, and Child and Family Health Services.
Immediate after-birth support.
Postnatal care is the medical support and guidance provided to mothers and newborns in the period following childbirth to ensure their health and well-being.
This package in fully inclusive of:
6-8 post-birth check-ups (daily for the first 3-5 days, then at 2, 4 and 6 weeks).
These sessions will include:
Newborn check, including weighing, measurements and general well-being.
Welfare check on mother – open and honest discussion around how you’re adjusting to motherhood, with access to a network of local allied health providers, I have established relationships throughout my career.
Breastfeeding education and support should you choose to breastfeed. As a former Councillor with the Australian Breastfeeding Association, I can support with establishing breastfeeding and refer you to a specialist should the need arise.
Individualised crochet umbilical tie (optional).

Once confirmed you will need to visit your GP for a referral to Midwise Julie (me) to provide antenatal and postnatal appointments. This will enable me to bulk-bill you for these appointments.
Please request your GP to supply me with copies of your early pregnancy, blood tests, ultrasound reports and screening to hello@midwisejulie.com.au
Excludes cost of birthing pool hire - if required.
Julie will arrange suitable midwife relief where circumstances such as sickness or unexpected commitments occur.
Ambulance cover is recommended.
Never hesitate to call 000 for urgent assistance and if required to attend a hospital.
Midwives are accountable for their midwifery actions regardless of who accepts clinical responsibility.
Medicare rebate provided at the conclusion of care for you to claim.
The total out-of-pocket cost is $6,000 *less Medicare rebate*
This includes all of the above and is split into the following payment plan:
At booking: $1,500 *secure your place - spots are limited*
20 weeks: $1,500
28 weeks: $1,500
36 weeks: $1,500
Additional cost may be incurred should extra appointments be requested or required.
*Medicare rebate form provided following the final payment (at 36 weeks) to claim.
